My Sacred Space

I pause to contemplate a piece
A soulful, complex tapestry
Its human threads an ebb and flow
Of love and curiosity

It sings a story, soft and low
That puts its roots down in my soul
And asks my heart to wake and feel
The warmth of God's eternal glow

Before the tapestry I kneel
An altar where I shall reveal
The dark and light within my mind
Like threads that feed the spinning wheel

It weaves a vision undefined
The endless thread of humankind
Which leaves each soul its art to find
Which leaves each soul its heart to find.
